European Expert Group

The Expert Group kicked-off in October 2019 gathering representatives of companies and industries to get involved in European lobby work. The group has formed three task groups:

·  TG 2: Marketing & Communication

·  TG 3: Cycle logistics services & systems

Standardisation is an essential feature of any successful, international, industry sector. While sometimes constraining for companies and manufacturers, it is crucial for many aspects, including safety, compatibility, cross-sectoral integration, international market penetration.

1. European Cargo Bike Industry Survey: Market Size and Coronavirus Impact


51% of all motorized transport trips in European cities could be shifted to bicycles. However, there is few data on the actual size and growth of the European cargo bike market. Our very first European Cargo Bike Industry Survey addresses brands, dealers and distributors of cargo bikes as well as suppliers and providers of cargo bike specific products and services.

Market Overview

CCCB partner will establish the first Europe wide online market overview of cargo bikes in English and German

The online market overview will be presented in the second half of 2020.

Commons Cargo Bikes

In 2013, the association „wielebenwir“ from Cologne started the commons cargo bike sharing project „Kasimir – your cargo bike“. Their donation-based concept of “free cargo bikes” can be used for up to three days and quickly became a popular movement across Germany as well as in some Austrian cities and Budapest.
